In this full immersion course we teach a systematic approach to guitar making that involves the student in every step of the process. In class you’ll learn how to fabricate all the components, bend sides, carve the neck, assemble the body, and fine tune the set-up of your guitar so it plays beautifully.
Soprano Ukulele – Beginner
This is a fun workshop intended for folks with limited woodworking skills who want to experience the joy of making your own instrument. We’ll build Soprano ukuleles in this class, working from special kits designed to provide a satisfying and successful outcome.
Tenor Ukulele – Intermediate
Our Tenor Ukulele course is designed for intermediate level students who want a more complete building experience. We’ll make basic instruments similar to the very popular Collings UT1, and material upgrades are available. Some recent woodworking experience is required for this class.
Ukulele – Advanced
In this advanced level class, students will build Tenor or Concert ukuleles from tonewoods of their choosing. These instruments will have have top and back bindings, and opportunities to choose tuners and other construction details. Enrollment will be selective, and by permission of the instructor.
In this intermediate level course you’ll learn how to build a flat-top mandolin from scratch starting with dimensioned materials and high quality components. We’ll make relatively basic instruments inspired by the early Gibson fat-tops, and the contemporary work of Larry Breedlove. Some recent woodworking experience is required for this class.
Acoustic Guitar Tune-Up
In this action packed workshop students learn how to inspect, refurbish, and adjust their acoustic guitars from head to toe. It’s one of our most popular classes, and lots of fun!
