The recreational opportunities in the Brattleboro area are limitless with two rivers, hundreds of acres of forests and trails, and the Green Mountains to the west. Our forests and trails offer hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, and sleigh rides. Major ski areas including Mount Snow and Stratton are less than an hour drive from town. You can swim or skate on our rivers and ponds, and the Brattleboro Country Club offers 18 holes of challenging golf, and nice clubhouse. The Brattleboro Chamber of Commerce maintains an extensive recreation guide on their website, including upcoming local events.

The Brattleboro region is also well known for being one of the most artistically diverse and culturally rich communities in Vermont. Throughout the year film festivals, monthly gallery walks, concerts, theater performances and community celebrations draw thousands of people to downtown Brattleboro to enjoy entertainment, browse the shops, and sample our eclectic assortment of eateries and pubs. There is also a vibrant local music scene with live music at local bars and performance venues. The Brattleboro Chamber of Commerce maintains an upcoming events calendar on their website:
